December 2024

Rancho Simi Chapter, NSDAR coordinates the annual Wreaths Across America ceremony at the Rancho Simi Pioneer cemetery.
Rancho Simi Chapter Daughters gathered for our annual holiday luncheon. We also collected two huge bags of new toys for Spark of Love toy drive, Ventura County.
November 2024
Rancho Simi Chapter, NSDAR sponsored an information booth at the Simi Valley Veterans Day Ceremony. Chapter members thanked veterans for their service and we also presented a big Thank You and some special challenge coins to Vietnam Veterans. Alongside information on DAR and how to join us, we featured information on donating towards Wreaths Across America and the upcoming wreath placing ceremony at our local Pioneer Cemetery.
Rancho Simi Daughters presented a personalized Quilt of Valor to a local veteran, John C. at our November chapter meeting. Thank you for your service sir!
October 2024
Our Chapter Patriot Altar at the Simi Valley Day of the Dead Celebration. All the first Patriots of chapter members are represented. Many chapter members have more than one ancestor who provided service or aid toward the cause of American Independence.
DAR Day of Service- Sewing Day. This year the Rancho Simi chapter Daughters were joined by volunteers from the Rotary Club to cut, pin, iron and sew towards the creation of Quilts of Valor that we present to local veterans in thanks for their service.

Rancho Simi Chapter, NSDAR welcomed as speakers, one of our local K9 officers named Zeus and his partner as well as the K9 program sponsor the Simi Valley Police Association to our October meeting.

Rancho Simi Chapter, NSDAR sponsored two Constitution Week Displays this year. One at the Simi Valley library and one at the Moorpark Library.
California State Society, NSDAR State Council brought Daughters from every part of California. Rancho Simi Daughters with the State Regent, District VIII Regents, Quilt block made by our chapter Quilting Queens for the State Quilt was turned in at the event.
August 2024
Rancho Simi sponsored a booth at the 13 Souls Memorial Run this year. Meeting and greeting the public, lots of veterans and many ladies interested in the DAR. We even had a member in the marathon! Our display featured a special focus on Spanish Patriots featuring a history of Don Jose Ortega the namesake of our friends at the Don Jose Ortega chapter who generously loaned us the board.
June 2024
Rancho Simi Daughters attended the Flag Day Ceremony hosted by the VFW Post 10049 in Simi Valley. A special 48 Star Flag was shown and then presented to a Veteran.
Daughters attended the 53rd Annual Flag Day luncheon on June 12th. Hosted by the Don Jose de Ortega Chapter, NSDAR, the event was extra special this year as we celebrated their chapters namesake having officially be recognized as a DAR Patriot.
Rancho Simi Daughters collected personal items for local Senior Citizens and presented them at the local Chamber of Commerce.

The Rancho Simi Chapter, NSDAR, went all out on our table at the Simi Valley Veterans Day event. Our table featured information on DAR and how to become a member, Wreaths Across America and how to sponsor wreaths, and a display of some of our chapter's patriot ancestors. We met three potential daughters and a gentleman from the local Sons of the American Revolution. Many thanks for your service veterans!

Rancho Simi Chapter, NSDAR, Daughters participate in the annual Day of the Dead event held at Strathearn Historical Park. This year's Altar to our Patriot Ancestors received a lot of complements and inquiries about our chapter.
Rancho Simi Chapter, NSDAR, Daughters attended the Halloween themed District 8 meeting in early October. A spooktacular time was had by all!

Congratulations to one of our own for the well-deserved recognition as Rancho Simi Chapter, NSDAR, Volunteer of the Year 2023 at the Simi Valley Community Council President's Breakfast.
May 2023
Presentation of the Junior Reserve Officers' Training (JROTC) Medals to a U.S. Navy Sea Cadet and a Junior Air Force Cadet. This year we have five grade school winners and one middle school winner for our DAR Good Citizens Award.
Our first high tea took place at the lovely home of one of our chapter members.
It was a beautiful sunny day. Shaded by umbrellas at each table, tea and traditional finger foods were enjoyed by all who attended.

After the business meeting, our first and second-place winners of the American History Essay Contest each read their essays aloud. Congratulations to them both!
On February 25, 2023, Rancho Simi Chapter, NSDAR, celebrated our 10th year anniversary, somewhat delayed because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Many Rancho Simi Chapter, NSDAR, Daughters, guests, honorary regents, and our state regent braved the frigid weather to enjoy the event.
